Iguana was released in 1986 as part of the third wave of MASK vehicles. This 4-wheel ATV could change into a “Mobile shredder”, whatever that means. Maybe on nights and weekends he goes around to small businesses and offers to shred their old documents for them…

Iguana was driven by Lester “Lizard” Sludge (how’s that for a name!?), wearing the Mudslinger mask.

This is one of the few vintage toys that I’ve collected as an adult. A friend of mine was at a toy show, he knew I collected MASK, and saw this Iguana for $15 including the (rather beat up) box. He didn’t even ask me, he just bought it for me. That was nice of him, huh? Needless to say, I don’t really have a history with this toy, other than it’s been sitting on my shelf ever since.

It’s not a bad toy, I guess. The transformation is a little awkward, as the seat for the ATV takes a little wiggling to get into place. And apparently I’m using it wrong – Sludge isn’t supposed to sit in the mobile shredder, but is meant to stand behind the guns. Eh, I kinda like him sitting in that awkward chair.

Whatever the case, it’s a welcome part of my collection, and I’ll think of my friend every time I see it. Win-win if you ask me.
