Today, let’s look at a M.A.S.K. vehicle that is almost unanimously considered one of the coolest in the entire line, Jackhammer.

Released in 1985, the back end of this Ford Bronco could turn into a rotating gun turret, while the hood slid up over the windshield to reveal twin guns in the grill that ratcheted when you turned the wheels. It was driven by V.E.N.O.M. henchman Cliff Dagger, who had a very Road Warrior/Master Blaster helmet called Torcher.

I mean, seriously, how cool is this toy? Some of the M.A.S.K. designs were a little obvious that there was something more going on than just a regular motorcycle or race car. But Jackhammer is the epitome of the M.A.S.K. concept if you ask me. It absolutely looks like a regular toy truck until you push down on the back bumper and the gun turret pops up.

Also, this thing always reminded me of something the A-Team would have welded together in an afternoon so they could fight off some drug dealers that are menacing a small town in New Mexico.

Sadly I don’t have the box to this one, but I do have Cliff’s mask and, more importantly, the secondary gun that fits in the turret (like you need more guns up there!), which are the main things kids would lose back in the day.
